Yesterday Mary Beth and I took a little day trip up to Reelfoot Lake. We took a scenic drive and the weather was perfect and the scenery felt like fall everywhere. We did take a wrong turn at one point and had a little hitch, but we found our way along. We went to the state park and walked along the trail/bridge thingie to get a nice look at the lake and the cypresses. We saw some turtles sunning themselves on stumps and birds and spiders and stuff. They have a thing about their rehabilitation program for birds of prey and we got to look at a few owls and hawks and eagles (these all fenced in). We picniced in our car (though on our way out we saw another, separate section of the park with picnic tables). It was a nice little day. And then we made it back. And we didn't do anything Halloween-related except look at the full ("blue") moon. My toe is slowly feeling a little better. It's of course looking purplier and nastier.
