Cuarenta y dos
Jul. 21st, 2020 08:05 amSo now it's my turn on the birthday wagon. Yesterday, Mary Beth and I kept it pretty low key for hers. At night we watched Trouble in Paradise, and I enjoyed it. We ate a little bit of non-dairy ice cream, but it's Jeni's non-dairy so it's still good. I played her what I have of her birthday present, which is the music I've been working on for a few days, a cover of "Running up That Hill (a Deal with God)." I did most of what I have so far using the Morphagene as a sampler. I sampled my drums and I tracked down the CELLO2 Fairlight sample that was used in the song for the lead part. The only problem is the Morphagene isn't intended as a regular sampler and it may just be really impossible to track notes in a regular manner. I mean, it's recognizable but, though it seemed pretty good when I recorded it, going back to it, the notes feel like they're all over the place. It's still recognizable at least, I mean, that sound alone is enough I guess. Maybe when I work on it more I can fix it up some? I guess we'll see. Though I have a backlog of unfinished covers now...
