Sweet

Last night I went to a Crosstown showing of Sweet Sweetback's Baadasssss Song. I'd never seen it before and...and that's a weird fuckin' movie. There's definitely a lot that's really good about it and the last half of it is pretty great. Though the first half is chock-full of the some of the most awkward sex scenes ever, pretty explicit and pretty awkward. And the very first scene is tops the awkward cake with a fourteen or so year old Mario van Peebles in a quite explicit sex scene. The soundtrack is fucking phenomenal. I especially love the way in parts it mixes in two different songs at the same time. Oh and somewhere towards the last half, a few people in the back just started heckling the movie constantly and it was really obnoxious. Just, a flip switched when they said one stupid thing and then they just kept saying stupid shit. Other than that, I finished reading The Magic Christian by Terry Southern at work today. It was okay. There were a couple funny parts but it mostly wasn't as funny or biting as I was expecting, kinda just there, not bad but okay. Well, now I'm entering the weekend!
