Goodbye, Jo Jo
Feb. 18th, 2019 05:01 pmI went over to Jacques's place yesterday and we got our hotel booked for the Big Ears trip and did some minor additional planning so that's getting more exciting. Then I worked on getting something patched up for my show on Wednesday. So that's coming together, still not finished yet. I was going to finish recording on that part for the Stevie Wonder cover (the faux clavinet) since it was already patched in, but then I found I can't use my recorder 'cuz a 1/4" tip broke off in the headphone jack and it's stuck in there and I can't plug anything else in til I figure out how to get it out! So yeah, obnoxious conundrum! Getting things set up for my "album release" show for the tape I have coming out (it'll be at the Hi-Tone on March 30th, a Saturday, woo). Had some very sad news today. Jo Jo died this morning. She didn't have to be my cat to have touched me so deeply (I guess her reminding me so much of Horace and meeting her not so long after he died helped forge that connection, but she was a pretty great cat). I know her health had been bad for a while, but still sad to see her gone. Nate texted me while I was at work so I had to try not to get too weepy, but I had a nice sob when I told Mary Beth after I got home just now.
