I went out to a little show last night. It was at this place called The Artist Commons on Scott St. It was kinda weird, it's like an art workshop/residency thing. But the front room which I guess is a sort of gallery where the show was has a kitchen. Anyway, it was Revenge Body playing a short set opening up for a poetry reading. It was Kim Vodicka reading from her new book with someone else offering kind of "back-up" reading (sometimes reading along, mostly just key words, and sometimes humming or whatever) and there was music underneath, kind of a multimedia thing. There were some videos, I think there were supposed to be more, but it stopped after the first one and just hung at the end a little into it. Then the second person played guitar for part of it. It was very artsy poetry reading. I'm not generally sure what I thought of it, I think there were lines I liked here and there but mostly I don't think it did much for me. David and Mary and Nate all showed up and I talked to 'em. We got a little tour of the art space in the back with all the art-making machinery and such. Now it's a new day. Up a little early, there was an alarm set but the work alarm was the one that was turned on so I woke up even earlier.
