Hole in the Wall
Dec. 5th, 2018 05:11 pmI went to see Tire last night. It's Gavin's (Cities Aviv/WGM) rock band. Also, Quinton who I've seen do some stuff around is the drummer. I think they may be my new favorite local band. They were fuckin' awesome. Very noisy, lots and lots and lots of feedback. Kind've a mid-slow, post-punkish tempo with a no wave thing on top. Anyway, I got there way early. It was at an art gallery thing so I thought it might be on time. Well, it was an hour and a half later. So I stood around a bit. The place was interesting. It was a basement art workshop thing. There was this big room in the basement with lots of art supplies stacked up everywhere. Then in the back, the place where the stage was is a literal hole in the wall. It was pretty cool. Got to hear some good jazz being played while waiting. I think some Interstellar Space Coltrane and possibly some Sun Ra and other stuff I didn't recognize but enjoyed. It still ended at a decent hour. The lame thing was coming home and getting stuck in some post-game traffic of some sort. Anyway, then there was work today. I didn't wear a bandaid so I guess that's an improvement. I hope I didn't jack my face up shaving just now though. The big show I promoted is tonight! We'll see how all that goes!
