Did a little bit of errand running yesterday. Went up to target to get some jeans 'cuz one of my two pairs busted all up. While I was there I also got some shorts in preparation for spring (since my single pair busted up towards the end of this past summer). I also got a couple nerdy shirts: one of the original box art for Super Mario Bros. and one that's just a picture of Mario on Yogi from Super Mario World. Mary Beth and I met Shawna for dinner at Lucky Cat. Maybe the last time I see Shawna for a while as she's moving back to Colorado in a few days. So it was good to see her before she gets gone. I spent a bit of the night watching Monkey Business (the Marx Brothers movie). Work from home for just a bit this morning and picked up my Knit Rider from the post office on the way in! So excited to FINALLY have it back from being fixed up in the Czech Republic! Can't wait to put it back in and play with it again. I've been missing it. What else? Eh, that's about good for now. Derp! Almost forgot to mention that I finished reading The House of the Seven Gables by Nathaniel Hawthorne today. It was okay, pretty dull through lots of stretches but it does have some moments. In particular, the entire "General Pyncheon" chapter is solidly great. And there are more subtle flashes of its ironic style spattered throughout, but as a whole that chapter takes it to another level and is pretty remarkable. The book as a whole doesn't match what it offers, but I did enjoy finding that tucked towards the back.
