Took Mary Beth's car up to Firestone to get the tire fixed. Took a lyft back and then back over to pick it up. The driver on the way back was pretty awesome with some stories generally about drunk and otherwise passengers. One story about getting a guy who wanted to stop and get coke (and getting him twice once with uber and once with lyft) and him feeling "comfortable" enough to snort it right there the first time. Then some drunk guy who kept calling her "Shaniqua" even though his friend kept telling him that wasn't her name and he kept calling her that so she called him "Connor." And a nice thing was picking up the car and the cost was zero 'cuz the tire was still under warranty! What else to report? Mary Beth and I caught up to the most recent episode of The Good Place. Today at work I finished reading One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest by Ken Kesey. It's a good book that could have been a great book. Stylistically, it's excellent. Its biggest drawbacks are being problematic about gender and race. Though it's strikingly forward and understanding with mental illness and homosexuality and Native Americans. It'd be an interesting book to pick apart as relates to its flaws and its virtues. Out of some long-shot emails to slightly famous acts, I got a response back from Matmos! And it's one of the nicest and funniest emails I've ever received. They actually seem interested. The main blocker would be a tour of Japan that's still being worked out. If it ends up being a different month then they're interested in doing it. They laid out some price conditions, some of which they're probably flexible on (though getting plane tickets would be a must), and they're pretty reasonable given their status. So I'm kinda flipping out and thinking they're doable if Japan doesn't conflict. And maybe this means we could get them here some other time even if not the festival. I dunno. Anyway, of course there's a ton of variables floating out there, but that email got me really dern excited!
