I went back up to Spin Street last night and got the difference refunded and it was pretty easy. Then later in the evening Mary Beth and I watched The Stepford Wives. It was really good and I liked it a lot. We watched it off youtube so the video was a bit choppy. And I mean, the movie anyway kinda looks like it was made-for-tv (which I'm sure wasn't helped by the poor streaming quality) and some of the dialogue is kinda goofy, but the story is great and towards the end it's effectively very creepy and suspenseful and the last scene really is visually perfect. It did well a what I was hoping Invasion of the Body Snatchers would have done more of, that being showing the horror and dread of normalcy and conformity (and of course it did so through a specifically feminist lens). It also reminded me a lot of Rosemary's Baby (for obvious basic plot reasons). Today was a short day at work. Though I was getting disproportionately pissed off by shit not working right. Though after lunch things started to fall in place and some stuff I'd been working on for a while actually started to bear fruit. I may spend a little bit of time over the weekend doing some work. Need to make sure these damn pi goals are met so bad things don't happen. Yeah. Oh yeah. I almost forgot that I got a Barnes & Noble Criterion blu-ray order: The Piano Teacher, Mulholland Dr., and Naked Lunch (Mary Beth raised an eyebrow at the two re-purchases of things I already have on dvd, but some movies you just gotta have the best! the best I say! I don't have a problem...!).
