It was a really awesome show up at Amurica that Luís set up. He opened as Sci Fi Industries and his stuff was really good live, I think the first time I've seen him live (at least solo). The next act was Matar and one of the guys in it is Adi from Clock DVA. I feel dumb 'cuz I like all the stuff of theirs I've heard and being in that early industrial scene that's right up my alley, but I've never gotten any Clock DVA stuff. I know I should rectify that soon. Matar were good, very droney. Next was Mykel Boyd and his set was really good, droney with noisy electronics. Last was The Anti Group (just Adi by himself). Less droney but sometimes droney, kinda trancey when there were rhythms. Noisier than his first set. It was all really awesome and definitely something special for Memphis to have gotten (all thank to Luís's work getting it together and his mad connections). I hit up the merch table. Mykel Boyd runs a label called Somnimage that handles all this stuff. Well, first I got a tour shirt ("the Samhain Tour - U.S. - 2017"). I got a bunch of cds from the label: Mykel Boyd: Fever Dream One, Mykel Boyd: Fever Dream Two, v/a: Radio Interference from Unknown Orgasm, Twig Harper: Music for Higher Dimensional Consciousness, The Death & Beauty Foundation: s/t, Vermani Shah: Saffron Sacrament & Quicksilver Communion, Wrym: Sympathetic Magick, and Brume + Bokeh: Transmutations. I also picked up a few things from Luís's Thisco label setup: KK.Null: Prime Radiant, Merzbow: Bariken, Rapoon: From Shadows Sleep, and Samuel Jerónimo: Rondas. Whew! Excitement. A good number of people were there, mostly people I know but a few I don't. Nice setup anyway. Then work today. Okay!
