Community Partner
Oct. 26th, 2017 05:42 pmWent to see an Indie Memphis screening last night of Score, a documentary about movie scores. It was okay, about what I expected in terms of content (big Hollywood stuff I'm not so much into, mostly). Stuff about music is usually enjoyable to watch anyway. And I was able to pick up our passes for the festival that starts next week. So that is exciting. One thing Mary Beth noticed when looking through the festival's program is that under A Life in Waves (the documentary about Suzanne Ciani they're showing), Memphis Concrète is listed as a "Community Partner" (and on the website too). I dunno, that's pretty exciting. So some things I've forgotten in previous posts. At The Anti Group's show, when I bought a bunch of merch from Mykel Boyd, he gave me a free flash drive of Francisco López: Untitled #272 (with 24 hours of audio). Also Natalie from Nots said hi to me. There, my brush with "fame." Also, yesterday was Toby's birthday and Wendy got everybody together and there was banana pudding (and then some more banana pudding was sitting around today too). So that was a high mark. As I arrived home and parked today after work, the handle came off my gear shift (a quick fix running in for a screwdriver but I'm glad it happened at home rather than somewhere else that might leave me screwed...oh I get it, "screwed" hahaha, yeah). Found this cd in the mail: Patrick Cowley: Afternooners. Now I need to practice for my little show tomorrow night at Growlers at 6:30.
