Yesterday afternoon Mary Beth and I went to Harbor Town for the Tobin Sprout show. A nice little amphitheater on the Wolf River side on the grounds of the Montessori school. The weather was really nice. We had our chairs and set up at the top under this tree and it was nice and shady and cool. Saw a good number of people we know there, mostly with kids. The opening band was Elf Power and they were pretty bad. Or maybe singularly mediocre and bland to the degree it offends the senses? Tobin Sprout was okay. I've never been really into Guided by Voices. I've heard songs here and there I like (and others I dislike). Some of his stuff was alright. You know, poppy so not super-my-thing. But that wasn't bad. Then last night was...TWIN PEAKS! Ordered Showtime yesterday morning in anticipation. Took frustratingly long to get working right to watch it. Like, it wouldn't come up in searches on the app on the tv. Finally, after getting the app on my phone and finding it right away, it showed up in recently watched on the Wii app too. But yeah! Watched the first two episodes, there are two more available but I didn't want to be up past midnight so I held off watching more until today. But ugh, work was hard being there and not thinking and thinking about the episodes waiting for me unwatched! It's really good so far and I can't wait to continue in a short while. Oh yeah, something I keep forgetting to mention!: On Wednesday I went and saw Gabo: the Creation of Gabriel García Márquez at Crosstown. It was a good documentary. It was packed as hell too. I literally had to stand as I arrived only a little before it started. Worth the stand though. Another oh yeah: got wristbands for the festival in the mail today! Approaching legit!
