Argh! The site's down so I'm typing against the nice black background of sublime text. Okay, so yesterday I was like fuck it I'm gonna finally fix this damn bookshelf (see, one of my bookshelves, the one containing the transition from C to D, has been collapsed because the whole case is bowed out and it doesn't quite fit on the little studs anymore so this shelf has just been sitting on top of the bottom row of books because that's just where it falls if I try to put it back up). So I go up to home depot to find a shelf or at least a piece of wood with the right dimensions. I find they do have shelves but either too short or too long, so I figure one of the long ones would be fine to have them cut. Take it over to the guys in the lumber area and they're like no, that will mess up that shelf (which I don't really care about) but they suggest cutting up one of the big plywood sheets and he takes one over and make the first cut but then kinda realizes I only want one small piece of wood (I mean, I did bring over just one little shelf to begin with) and is like you know you'll have to pay for the whole giant sheet right. I'm like damn, but then he remembers a small piece on the scrap pile and says he can just give that to me for free. I said I'd be happy to pay, but he says it's fine so he cuts it up to the dimensions I asked for and I got a free new shelf that fits! So I feel very accomplished about that. I no longer have to fret getting new books by authors A-Fa (see, the bottom shelf the other shelf was sitting on top of was Di-Fa). Okay, I was such the handyman getting someone else to do stuff for me! Alright, now it's christmas eve and it's the day Mary Beth and I are gonna celebrate christmas 'cuz we're going over to my parents' tomorrow. My mom's in the hospital. She fell and broke her arm (she's been falling a lot, her medication makes her dizzy and she won't use her walker). I think she's about to go back home. There was talk of surgery but I think the surgeon said he couldn't do anything for her with surgery. Hopefully she'll be okay. I'll be seeing her soon anyway. Damn. Lj is still down. When will I getta post!
