Today was a bit surreal. I had a one-on-one with my manager and she asked me if I want to be a "lead developer" or "team lead" (whichever they call it now). It's not official or anything yet, but I'll know more in a week when there's a big staff meeting/lunch. It probably won't be a big thing and I'll still be with cook (at least for the time being, I think there's still a hiring freeze, but this would definitely be something in my favor should that be lifted in the future). Mostly it'll mean I'll be the contact for the team if business/higher-ups need to get in touch with developers in the case of an emergency. Also, I'm supposed to make sure everyone on the team does code review (which we already all do). I think I was recommended by Melissa, my manager said she'd said good things about me so that's nice. I know John's probably a better developer than I am, but I guess I've somehow shown some "leadership" qualities or whatever. Anyway, I take it as a good sign. I know it's not a huge thing, but I do feel a bit of disbelieve over the whole thing. Anyway, overall it gives me a pretty good feeling career-wise. Okay, on to real important stuff! I came home to a cd in the mail: Brian Reitzell: Hannibal Season 2 • Volume 2, this is the one missing piece from my collection! And I can guarantee you having that gap's been driving me crazy for the past few months. And I've definitely kept up the search all this time (you know, discounting the $200+ copies idiots had out there), I think they finally pressed up some more 'cuz it suddenly became available in multiple places (much like that The Body album I just got as well). So all in all it's been pretty impressive as far as days go. The only thing contrary to this is the cut on the bottom of my foot I realized I had upon waking up. But, the good is winning here.
