Yeah...

Ended up watching Ministry of Fear last night with some popcorn ice cream. It was a pretty good movie. There were a couple really really good scenes. Overall it was as little more mainstream than I was hoping for, but it was good. There was a bit of awkwardness at work today. We had a meeting about talk that might offend people on slack. Nothing was addressed directly, but there was an incident yesterday. It was in not the most open channel, a private channel, but a big one. Someone had posted a link to an article about the cop that shot the caretaker of the autistic man. Anyway, there was a bit of talk about it (and I must say I did engage in some of it). Well, a bit later my supervisor gets on to say that hey maybe it's not a great idea to be talking about that here. I dropped out of any discussion completely at this point, but the person that initially posted it kinda got into an argument about it (not in an argumentative tone, huh?, but still keeping at trying to justify the conversation). So anyway, all the developers were called into the meeting today. Also, apparently it'd just happened that a SM employee had made disparaging comments about the black lives matters protesters on the bridge on social media that got leaked out and spread somewhat and they were fired. I get most of that from hearsay and I don't know what actually happened. Even the hearsay I got is pretty vague. But apparently there was some sort of incident like that recently because it was referred to in vague terms (as in, why now of all times to be talking about this stuff?). I think an email was sent to full-time employees so I didn't get that. Anyway, back to keeping my finger lips zipped.
