Regular Subject Title
Jun. 22nd, 2016 09:27 pmBack to work today. After work Mary Beth and I went to Crosstown for Indie Memphis's Sundance Shorts. Some good stuff again this year! I think all of it was pretty good. And we even got to see a butthole fart on an immobile dude's face (lowered from the ceiling no less). Shawna was there (she just moved back to town this past weekend) and we talked to her for a bit.
I remembered a few things from the trip I'd neglected to mention before. A few more record store conversations or exchanges. At Grimey's Too (the used side), one of the guys behind the counter asked me where I got my Klaus Schulze shirt (so I got to tell him about Night Channels). At the regular store, the guy asked me about the Pauline Oliveros I was getting. Asking if I'd heard it before. So I told him not that one but I have another one of her accordion albums (so brief exchange about liking her and such). At Monell's, a couple arrived after us and asked about the tea, so the guy was going for the unsweet tea. One of the guys who was there before us was like: oh, here's the sweet tea...because that must be what you really want because nobody would actually drink unsweet tea (most of the sentiment being expressed solely through tone, of course). When the guy's wife said it was unsweet that he wanted, he tried to pass the sugar because of course he would need that (but of course he didn't and of course the rejected offer was of mild, brief confusion to the giver). I swear last night I'd thought of some clever title for today's post, which is an extremely rare feat for me, however I've completely forgotten it. Oh well, that's a fitting return to norm I guess.
