The Birds

Got Hannibal: Season Three in the mail today. It's the end! Nooo! So sad. Well, I still have some to go. The end is supposed to be good so, yeah! I forgot to mention one of the most unusual things I left out last week. So I get to work on Friday and see a couple dead birds (black birds, crows? ravens? something else?) on the sidewalk right in front of the building. A little later Carrie is on slack asking someone to bring a box so she could get this injured bird. So I find a box and bring it out. I see she's over on the sidewalk that goes off to the side and there's a bird over there that I hadn't seen before (not having walked next to it). It is alive and there's a little blood around it. The most striking thing I notice, however, is the amount of dead birds strewn all along the front of the building. Later, people were invoking Alfred Hitchcock to talk about it. The building is all window, mirrored and tinted bright gold. I'm guessing around sunrise the flock got blinded or confused by the light and just flew right smash into the window. This one guy survived (maybe others that flew away, but there was really a lot of dead birds). Well, Carrie tried to pick it up to take it to an wild animal refuge but it's a bird so it naturally wasn't being cooperative. She'd try to get it and it'd walk over towards the building, eventually into the shrubbery right next to it. It was moving deeper away so I at least tried to get on the other side of it to block its escape (I wasn't going to try to pick it up myself or touch it or anything). It still got away from her and then ended up flying away across the parking lot. Goodbye, bird.
