It Was Christmas
Dec. 26th, 2015 09:54 amMary Beth and I did our Christmas in the morning yesterday. First we face timed with Mary Beth's parents and did our long distance exchange with them. We got a bunch of food stuff thingies from the New York Store. We did our own exchange. One of my stocking stuffers was this handheld thing that spins soda cans or bottles (when submerged in ice) and makes them ice cold really fast and doesn't make them explode, feats of science and engineering! I also got a thing that'll remove cat fur from clothes and an indestrictible wallet. My main gifts were these two posters: one of the "Nebula of NES" with a bunch of NES games (maybe all of them, at least licensed) in a huge circle, and the other a sort of "map" of the history of electronic music in the form of a schematic for a theremin. It's very nice and framed and I'm going to stare at it for a while and check out the people on it that I don't already know! A little into the afternoon we went over to my parents' for Christmas over there. The boys were their normal boyish selves. They had recently gotten these remote controlled helicopter pseudo-drones (you can control them going up but no other direction so they sometimes fly off to the side all crazy like, they're supposed to be "outdoor only" but that was not the case yesterday, I kept expecting waves of stuff getting smashed). I'd already gotten my main gift the day before (my new phone!) but got a few more things along with Mary Beth: a couple games like Boggle (which I don't think I've played before, but actually seems pretty darn cool) and Uno, a couple's massage. I also got a 5x5x5 Rubik's Cube (crazy synchornicity considering the "Rubik's Cube fever" that's been going around at work when just about everyone got one from some meeting or whatever). There's probably some other things but that's what I'm remembering right now. Played Uno a bunch with Jason. While Anthony was just going crazy in his usual way nearby "playing" with some of their new games (Connect Four and Mousetrap) in an explosion of pieces that sometiems included our Uno cards. Wanted to introduce Catan to Jason but the situation was far too chaotic. Maybe some other time.
