On Thursday night we went out to Boscos (and then later Local) to meet Josh and Molly as well as Molly's stepbrother and wife. Never met him before but he seemed pretty interesting. It was good to see Josh and Molly too. Well, Friday morning I emailed about the job and got a reply that I had failed and wouldn't move on to the next step, but I threw a hail mary email and he said if I fixed my code then I'd have a chance at an interview. Well, not much tmie for that to be scheduled as the class starts a week from Monday. I completely fucking surprised myself by getting everything to function after I came home from work late last night. I was actually kinda in disbelief when it happened. Now I need to finish deleting all the bad code I had commented out (I knew my problem was in trying to get some stuff to work I'd keep changing the wrong thing and digging myself into a messy hole, so I stopped getting rid of stuff in case it might be something I could go back to later) and updating my own comments. That shouldn't take but a couple minutes. I was excited 'cuz it meant Mary Beth and I got to follow through with our plans of going to the Dixon this morning before work. We got up and were tired (as I'd been up pretty late working on the code). It was supposed to be the last weekend (though we saw it was extended another week when we arrived), but on the plus it was free admission before noon. I enjoyed the main exhibit (Rodin) quite a lot. I impressed myself by taking an awesome picture of the sculpture that's outside. There was an exhibit of mostly Forain (painter and caricaturist) in their permanent collection/impressionist area. I think it was mostly stuff I hadn't seen and it was good. There was also an exhibition of local artists on the other side (that's usually houses local artists). One painter and one sculpturist. They were both minimal. I especially liked the painter: thick solid lines and bright solid fields of color (though not abstract, everything had people and scenes as subjects). Anyway, back from there and the store where we stood in line in front of David without even realizing it was him. Okay, let's polish that code up a bit and submit it!
