First thing on christmas day, Mary Beth and I tried to facetime with her parents, but something didn't work (she apparently spent four hours yesterday getting it fixed). We went to my parents' in the afternoon. So we saw them and Christina and Jason and Anthony. The boys were super cute as always. I had asked Jason how his cub scout regatta race thingie went and he said it was okay or fine or pretty good or something like that. Then my parents had to interject to say he won first place and there was a huge trophy on the shelf. Such modesty. For Jason's gift, I downloaded a bunch of games onto his phone so when I told him to check his phone for his gift he got excited. He was especially excited about Five Nights at Freddy's 2 (he had talked to me about that one before, or the first one or whatever). When he saw it he flipped out and said, "How did you get this? It costs money!" The kids had gotten Tetris Jenga and we played that (I had never played Jenga before). I think I lost every time...well, the second time my prediction of Anthony running into the room and knocking stuff over proved true (I guess I bumped the table leg while trying to avoid his show of terror). A little later Christina, Jason, Mary Beth, and I played Monopoly. That was fun. I won. Though the game was a bit unorthodox 'cuz after a while Jason got bored (though he was likely winning) and quit and then Mary Beth did too. Christina took over Jason's stuff and I took over Mary Beth's. I got to see Lacey and spend some time with her. Her health's apparently not that great. Turns out the skin problems are due to fleas, but she also has a heart murmur. Now the baby doggie is the old lady.
Yesterday was pretty exciting in seeing friends from out of town. We had planned to meet Nikole for lunch. She was returning from New Orleans with her friend Kristen. We met at Central. It was pretty hoppin'. Everyone wants some barbecue the day after christmas, I guess. It was good to see her if not for terribly long. After we were leaving (and before I realized I had left my fucking wallet, having fallen out of my pocket, and turned around to get it) I saw a text from Jason that he and Terre were in town and at Pho Binh so we ran over there to see them. Then I had to leave after a bit to get ready for work. Getting back home we found the frame for our new mattress left on the back porch. Hope I'll have some time to put it together sometime. Now my project is due tomorrow and I should finally get to wrapping the damn thing up.
