ateolf: (the goat...BITCH!)
Last Thursday and Friday they put in new windows in the bedroom and library. Had to wake up early those days. Thursday I got up after my three hours of sleep or so and stayed up. I watched a few movies in the morning while Mary Beth was asleep in the office. I watched The Host and Elevator to the Gallows. The Host was pretty goofy, it was entertaining, but I'm not sure about the tone. Elevator to the Gallows was good, not my favorite Malle but I liked it and the elevator shaft scenes were pretty tense. Was up pretty late writing a cover letter for this job I applied for. Here's hoping I actually get it. So even though I was tired I was up so late and got another three hours of sleep before getting up again. This time I just passed out on the couch all morning. Well, I felt pretty rested on Friday. We went to the new Fresh Market that's right by our house during rush hour and it was packed and I had to circle the parking lot a few times before finding a spot. At night it was karaoke for Paul's birthday at the P & H. I sang 'Fucking Hostile" (the Pantera song, of course) and was pretty proud of my performance. Later I sang "Just What I Needed" (requested by Mary Beth) and that was fun too. I started really "going for it" towards the end and apparently the karaoke dude Jason made faces. Also, before karaoke, Jacques had made a joke about not knowing any Elvis songs (as it was apparently "Death Night") and I said something along the lines of "yes you do" and started singing "Great Balls of Fire" in a bad Elvis voice. Jason missed the joke and corrected me. C'mon, I'm not an idiot, I know my Carlos Santana songs. Anyway, then there was Saturday. What did we do during the day? Oh shit, I'm dumb. I went over to my parents' to babysit Anthony while my dad ran errands. He was cute. I was super tired from lack of sleep and actually nodded off a few times while watching him. Not an easy feat! He is really easy to entertain. That night we went over to Paul and Shawna's for MORE Paul's birthday stuff. This time it was game night. So we played a sprawling, unfocused game of Cards against Humanity. Did get a present from them, this cd: Aurevoir Borealis: Tienken. Mostly pretty good, not crazy about the vocals. Production's a little slick, but sometimes it works in a good way. It was a good time. I drank way too much Mexicoke. Yesterday Mary Beth and I ran a bunch of errands. There was an early show at the Buccaneer. First, I went by myself as Mary Beth had some work she had to do. So I saw Strenghts alone and they were really good again. Then it was Pezz's turn to play so that's when I left to pick Mary Beth up. We got back for their second to last song and then it was Adios Gringo. Well, they're apprently going Gringos now? That's weird. I'd at first thought it was a shorthand sort of like "Velvets" or whatever. But that seems to be the official thing now. I miss the old name. They were really good anyway. Wrapped things up at Boscos. Now it's a new day. Got up a little earlier than planned (still planned to get up somewhat early, taking the chance to fix my damn sleeping schedule and all) today as they're doing the windows upstairs so there was noise and stuff.
