And the Movies

Yesterday I went and picked up the t-shirts we'd ordered for the event we're going to tonight! (Not "for" in that we're wearing them tonight, but "for" in that they commemorate the event.) They've got a still (closeup on someone's face) from each of the four movies and it says "Timewarp Drive-In." On the back it says more informational stuff, "a real horrorshow! The Shining A Clockwork Orange Dr. Strangelove 2001: a Space Odyssey Summer Drive-In Memphis July 26, 2014 happy birthday, stanley!" So getting pumped for this shit! Yesterday evening Mary Beth and I stopped by the Broad Ave. Watertower Pavilion for the art shindig. Ended up seeing Jason (former coworker from Whitehaven that I liked a lot). His girlfriend had a video installation in one of the trucks. That was cool to see him. We didn't stay too long. Then as we were leaving I ran into Neva, another coworker (she was new at Whitehaven last year). So that was, well, not crazy but I dunno. Anyway, after that we went over to the theater to see Life Itself, the Roger Ebert documentary. I liked it. It's always really funny watching when him and Siskel really got into arguing. The rest of it was good too. We'd met up Jacques there. Hung around talking at Huey's for a little longer. Working on our goal of staying up super-late. After we got back home, Mary Beth and I played Dominion all night. I kept winning every time so she probably got annoyed with me. Anyway, I met my goal of going to sleep at 6 am. Actually, I exceeded it. That lame thing happened where I stayed up super-late and then i had a hard time falling asleep so it wasn't til a bit after 7 that I actually got to sleep. And I woke up a little "early" on top of it. So I'm not as in tip-top shape as I was hoping, but I think I'll be alright.
