Mixed Up

Jacques and Paul came over yesterday and we finished mixing the last two songs of the record! Mixing, anyway, is done! That's pretty exciting, though we still have more steps to go. First we worked on "Lost Year." We'd known we'd have to cut off a couple minutes of the feedback at the end so the whole record could fit on an 80 minute cd, so did some work at getting that trimmed down. Mixing of that went alright. Then last we mixed the one Paul sings on (still no name yet, tried working on that some too but nothing yet...I think we did settle on "Terminal Points" for the instrumental thoguh). Did some work with some editing/trimming of the songs and now some of the transitions are better than expected! "Dismayed" (the one Ryan sings on, formerly called "Ivan's Lament") into "Safety Corridor" and "Safety Corridor" into "Lost Year" are pretty incredible. This morning I worked on cutting the very beginning of "Death Blow" and putting it at the end of "Lost Year" so they'll flow into each other seamlessly. Still need to do some mastering work/compression so they're at the same level. But that needs to be done with everything. Went over to my parents' for a little bit just now. I helped my dad move the big tv that recently broke out of the house. I also got to play with Anthony for a few minutes. He's so adorable. I guess that's it for now. I should spend the rest of this Easter working and junk.
