On Monday I got a cd set in the mail: John Carpenter in association with Alan Howarth: Prince of Darkness soundtrack. Was going over to my parents' after work to give my grandmother her meds. Also calling her in the morning to make her take her morning pill, worked okay Monday, but she has trouble using their cordless phone and set it off the hook much of the time. Anyway, Wednesday morning she started hallucinating (apparently a side-effect of the antibiotics she was on) that there was fire in the kitchen among other things. She managed to call 911 and was taken to the hospital. Since she's been there, I've been going to see her after work. I gave seniors their final exam on Tuesday and made up a few on Wednesday. Thursday started the EOC tests. I proctored one on Thursday and administered one all by myself in my room on Friday. Senior grades are all in. Getting to be nearly all over with. I volunteered to help chaperone the last minute surprise senior trip to Six Flags in Atlanta for Saturday (ended up getting postponed to next week due to the weather). It's to be a little on the horrible side: a one day trip getting to school at 1 am and returning 12 am. Anyway, so we ended up being able to practice yesterday. Continued recording some of those drums on "Cameras" (snare and toms on the verses, happy with the even more distant snare sound I got than on the previous recording). After that we started practicing for the Chicago show in June. Today, Mary Beth and I set off to celebrate Cinco de Mayo at Las Tortugas and after driving all that way they were closed. We went to Caminos de Michoachan and it was really good. Been gorging ourselves on the pastries we took home too. Now I need to do some catching up with non-senior grades.
