SUCCESS!!

Bunch of stuff in the post. Criterion had a surprise one day 50% off sale on Valentine's Day so I ordered some dvds (which came this Tuesday): The Battle of Algiers and The Warped World of Koreyoshi Kurahara (also got a couple for Mary Beth). Also turning up was Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D (for the 3DS, of course). I also got another dvd: Dub Echos (I had the idea of showing something for black history month with the EMC). Great news is that Thursday morning my Donors Choose project was fully funded! I finally got the bright idea to post it to the Electrical Audio forum and it hit its goal within 12 hours. So I guess within a few weeks the club will have some stuff! It was timely for the meeting that afternoon. Though only two kids showed up, that's twice as many on any one day in the past month. The kid who were there last week was supposed to give a demonstration on drum machine plugins, but he didn't show up. I showed 20 minutes of the movie to the two kids. One of 'em seemed really into the music. The other only said that it was weird that Lee Perry would put a mic in a garbage can and bang it. He said that is not something we would do in the club with the mic they're getting. I got some stuff in the mail Thursday night: a Behringer Eurorack UB1202 (12 channel mixer so I can start organizing all my electronic sounds) and a 10 space rack case. I know I got the case cheap for what it was and I know it was only "medium duty," but it was still a little disappointing when I met the construction quality face-to-face. Hopefully it won't just fall apart. I have another one coming too. I'm upset because I'd had the conviction that spring break is the week after next and I found out this afternoon we still have two weeks to go. That just shattered my whole cheery outlook. Once again I was super busy with school work throughout the week. Thought I was gonna blow up last night. Anyway.
