dressing down...

a few packages yesterday: The Milky Way dvd (the last of the Criterion explosion...i actually was thinking i wouldn't get it 'cuz it just went out of print and it said there would be a several day wait (which there was) but it came...i tried with another of Buñuel's and that one did turn into unavailable...) and The Face of Another by Kobo Abe...as i just got the movie i figured i'd better read the book first...oh, and i should also mention that i joined amazon prime for free earlier this week...they have a deal where students get it for free for a year (technically anyone with a .edu email address...) so yeah, i ordered it with that and it came fast, yeah...anyway, Mary Beth and i went to see Inception and it was pretty good...not mind blowing or anything, but entertaining for a hollywood action movie...it was conceptually a bit flawed and when i think about it everything just bugs me more and more so i guess i shouldn't think about it too much...it let out just in time for us to go on our walk but i blew it by not being able to find my wallet...so we had to rush back to the theater before the next showing...couldn't find it, then it turns out i'd just laid it in a stupid place as soon as we'd gotten back home...and by the time it was found i'd blown our time window...kinda sad 'cuz the following two days (uh, today and tomorrow) i can't walk either...anyway, back to work today, early...afterwards we met my family for our birthdayish dinner...i'd picked Swanky's as somewhere new to try that's kinda near out by my parents, but when we got there it was real noisy and kind've a weird environment or whatever and i knew my dad would not be happy there...we ended up going to the Macaroni Grill in the same parking lot...my sister and nephew finally arrived after she couldn't find the car keys (actually i guess i should say after she finally did find them...) anyway, home now and stuff...
