enjoying my time with Pig...she's so sweet and old and lazy and stubborn...came home last night and went to walk her but she wouldn't budge...i was about to go to bed so i knew it'd be a hell of a long time since she'd last been out and when we'd wake up so i was trying to get her to go out for her dire benefit, but she was laying in the bed and was being stubborn...i was trying to coax her so i put my arms around her sides and under her, not pushing or anything just putting them there and she snapped at me a little and then was immediately sorry...she had the guiltiest expression on her face and then rolled over so i petted her belly...i know she's old and i wasn't trying to push her so i let it go...got undressed and went to the bathroom...and of course when i got out she was up and wanting to go outside...and then when we were out she wouldn't stop walking! dogs are funny...and Elizabeth is a mighy fine lady...at work today i finished reading The Major Works by Gerard Manley Hopkins...did not like it...i mean, when it finally got to him writing in sprung rhythm the poems started to sound interesting, though sometimes feeling a bit overblown and beating you over the head with the sheer rhythmic attack (sometimes i guess that's alright...) but the subject matter was still only god this and nature that...hard for me to get too interested no matter how innovative the writing may be...oh and i really couldn't understand about one word he was saying, aside from a vague sense of talking about god and/or nature...i know i'm partially poetically retarded, but i dunno...it wasn't my thing anyway...now that i've worked my one day i'm off for three days in a row! (even though i WANTED to work the holiday for the pay...oh well...jerks...) but i guess i haven't had that holiday vacation feeling in a long time, which is kinda nice and takes me back...so there's that to focus on...
