finding hell

monday went out shopping for some mother's day gifts i was at davis kidd and they had some Oxford World's Classics books for super cheap and i picked up a few: Against Nature by Joris-Karl Huysmans, The Secret Agent by Joseph Conrad, Under Western Eyes by Joseph Conrad, Boris Godunov and Other Dramatic Works by Alexander Pushkin, and Three Major Plays by Lope de Vega...then we went out to check the other barnes & nobles for more Dalkey Archive books but they didn't have the same $3 bins...oh well, i've spent way too much money lately anyway...we met my family at sekisui for other mother's day thingie...Mary Beth and i celebrated with mother's day themed sushi...the "sweet mama" was amazing...yesterday i went back to work for one day...my whole sense of time (at least my daily sense) is completely shredded right now...in the evening we went to huey's with Jacques and Amber to celebrate the finalization of them buying a house! that is exciting! now today i'm off again...not a whole lot going on right now...

and i feel a little bad...this cd that i'm currently listening to, that i pretty much was given for free because i wasn't thinking right the girl in the band was just being nice about my stupidity...well, this cd is not very good at all...in fact, i may even hate it...i'm giving it its second listen, maybe i'll change my mind...i like the two live cds pretty well, but this is one of those cases where a band gives up their sound and goes for a more straightforward (in this case classic rock) sound...i guess there are still moments, but it's pretty hippieish in a pretty bad way...and so straightfoward and boring...maybe it's the influence of whatever "The Golden Road" that their with is...but it seems more like a loose name, since different people (except the core two) play on every song...i dunno...and i kinda wanna sell it but it makes me feel back because of how i got it...i dunno, maybe i'll have a change of mind or heart on this listen...
