Nov. 11th, 2005 03:36 pmlately i'd been obsessed with this guitar i'd seen at consignment and xanadu...each store had 2 of 'em...i was thinking it was a Rickenbacker...so i was trying to look it up online all obsessed with it but not finding any ricks that looked like it (this is a guitar that actually looks GOOD, as opposed to every rickenbacker being ugly...) partly why i was so obsessed with it, a rickenbacker that looks GOOD? wow...who would have though...but i could find NOTHING on this guitar...so today i went back to consginemtn and found out why...the guitar in question is a Reverend...so i'm just a moron...they look awesome and they play well...but not $650 well...if they played mind-blowingly great i might have actually gotten it...but that's just too much money...i did get this cheap mutant telecaster thing...it has a telecaster body or at least a copy of one but it has a wood finish...the headstock isn't even close to fender...but it was $130 and it plays sweet so i got it...my second tele copy! i also swung by xanadu to check out their Reverends and they were about the same in price...they also had a CLEAR B.C. Rich (uh, the warlock i think) that was also in the same price range...unfortunately...that would be an AWESOME guitar to have...just not for $600...then i went to taylor music where i'd never been...they had two cheap guitars...one was cheap and good and one was cheap and bad...i wanted 'em both...i ended up with the cheap and good one...it's a Kay apparently...it's also wood finished with a cream pick-guitar...it's about the size of my old broken Silvertone...i almost didn't get it...while it looks cool it doesn't look THAT cool (and it has a gibson-esque headstock which i find not-too-attractive)...but other than that...it's light and small (and actually real wood instead of cork...nothing against cork...but it's just about as light...) it plays great and sounds great and for now i think it's the replacement as my new main guitar...i'll be playing it tonight...new amp new guitar...woah! totally new sound! no one will recognize us!
the new kitty's name is Gertrude...i guess i sort of named her...we were sitting around the night before last and that name popped in my head and i said it without thinking about it first and then Mary Beth liked it...they call her Trudy for "short"...i call her Gurdy myself...she was hanging out next to me a second ago but now she's back wandering around...uh...that's all...
come to Murphy's tonight to see The Family Ghost and my new amp AND guitar!!! come it will rock you like you've never been rocked before!!!
