well, i haven't updated in days 'cuz there was a storm monday night and my cable's been out 'til now...first the power went out shortly before bedtime...the storm was the pathetic remnants of what destroyed new orleans, so i'm not so much complaining as stating what happened...one of the times the power tried to come back on a transformer next door exploded...finally it came back on...but i didn't sleep too well...
tuesday The Family Ghost practiced...the power went out again for a few minutes...we went through "Phantom Limb" and somewhere in the middle it went out so we waited and it came back on again...around the block there was this tree that had pulled this power line down...oh well...
wednesday after work i went by spin street and picked up Curb Your Enthusiasm: the Complete Fourth Season and i found this compilation used: Cold Heat: Heavy Funk Rarities · 1968-1974 · Vol. 1...i'd never heard of it or nothin' but since it was used the title seemed promising enough to take the risk...and i must say it sure paid off! then The Pocket Protectors got together...that was fun...i broke out the clarinet...
thursday after work i just watched the entire fourth season of Curb Your Enthusiasm...that was fun...Jacques came by and dropped off flyers for the show he made...
so yesterday i set out to put the flyers up in the afternoon...my fucking tire was flat...(thank god it happened on the weekend by chance...) so i went around on my spare...then i took it to firestone and had to get a new damned tire...while waiting i walked down to Raffe's Deli...never been there...it was alright...then later Josh and Molly picked me up and we ate at Memphis Pizza Cafe...i hadn't eaten there in forever 'cuz it destroys my colon like nowhere else...but now i have the power of those lactose supplements and it was like 24 hours before i crapped! it didn't mess me up at all! a new record, i'm pleased...we went back to their place and since Josh had never seen it, we watched some Curb Your Enthusiasm...Molly fell asleep on the couch though...
today Jacques came over and we worked on the record some more...he redid the vocals for "Placeholder"...we smoothed over Brad's keyboard part on the same song at the end 'cuz he went on and changed notes at the end after he shouldn't have...we actually just taped the keys down and punched it in over the offending part...fun...then on "A Series of False Starts" there was a beat where Brad didn't play the bass drum...so we punched in me playing it for that second...it all went nicely...we tried a few things on "Taken"...gonna wait for a third opinion to decide where to go...i recorded some extra snare drum to add some accents and like for effects and stuff with the snare in the bathroom...it was fun...we'll see if it gets used or not...i guess that's all...
