The Family Ghost: non-unlucky show #14
Aug. 25th, 2005 12:55 pmfirst off, yesterday at work i finished reading Nausea by Jean-Paul Sartre...then after work, of course, off to Murphy's for The Family Ghost's show...
Tony (aka Real Live Tigers) was very good...he's touring the country in a greyhound by himself...he normally brings along his accoustic guitar, but last night he borrowed my electric guitar since he was playing in a bar...he also asked me to join him on drums for a couple songs, and i did and that was fun...hopefully i didn't mess 'em up too much...one of the songs was a Low cover ("Sunflowers") so then The Family Ghost played and our set was:

The Longest Day of the Year
(our first show in our 4 and a half years of playing to NOT play "Taken"...but we still rocked and shit...) it was a pretty good show...not a ton of people were there, but it was a fun show and i think our playing went over pretty well...it was another instance of one person we don't know coming up to us and going on about how much they liked us...after "Placeholder" he actually came up and bought us shots...(Brad had mine, of course...) now i guess, THAT'S a first...after the show he was talking to us (mostly Jacques) he said his only complaint was we need to go out and get us all boss tuners...but he was REALLY drunk and kept going on and on and on about how much he liked us...said it's a 180 from the stuff he plays (along the lines of The Black Crowes and early Rolling Stones...) but he still liked us...or something...it was kind of neat...so one new fan a show: we could do worse...Tony had to catch his bus around 3 am so after we brought our gear back her and unloaded it, it was a little after 2 so i took Tony to ihop before dropping him off at the bus station...that's a totally hardcore way to tour, i could never do that...anyway, he was a really nice guy and had some good music...that was part of the reason the show was so much fun...i know it was one that put us all in a good mood...so that's good...The Family Ghost marches on!!!
(p.s. in case you didn't notice i got off work today...i sort of had to take this extra day off sometime before the big corporate changeover...so what better than the day after a show!)
