an evening with The American Analog Set

friday night i went to The American Analog Set show w/ Brad at The Map Room...it was quite the good show...i bought 2 cds: The Fun of Watching Fireworks and Through the 90s: Singles and Unreleased, and a shirt...they mentioned something about needing a place to stay so Brad, the experienced houser of bands, talked to 'em after the show and they ended up staying at his house...so we kind've hung out w/ 'em some...it was pretty cool...we even rode in their van for a short distance when they took us to my car to lead them to Brad's...but that was a really cool night...i'm gonna split all the stuff i'm gonna talk about (as i haven't updated in a good while) into different posts...but i'll also add here, as i've already mentioned cd purchases, that last night i bought Anti-Pop Consortium's Tragic Epilogue...that's all...

birthday (nasty)boy

the night before the show, Keith and i went and got Brad's birthday present...i will give an itemized list of each part of its contents...or something...first there was the bag we put it in, it had a muscular, shirtless dude on it w/ ripped jeans...all oiled up and such...next there was the card: it folded out and on the front you saw some dude's face in a blindfold and it said something like "now this is my idea..." then you fold it out and it's got the whole naked dude all tied up w/ his penis all sticking out and said "...of male bonding"...next there's the Anal Glow...this being lubricant...on the top it said "nastyboys" and there's a picture of a dude w/ a moustache, clad in leather and jeans w/ his penis hangin' out...and finally there's the product w/ which this Anal Glow was intended to accompany: the portagina (that being a term i just made up...so if you didn't catch its meaning, it means pocket pussy...) then saturday night was his party thingie...so when there was a bunch of ppl there we unveiled the present...it was pretty funny...ummm...not too much else to report for that night so i'll break away into a different post...

other stuff

Justin went out of town for fall break and asked me to doggiesit for him while he was gone...so throughout the weekend i was going over there and feeding her and letting her out and such...at his apartment, for his N64 he has Zelda: Ocarina of Time...so i was all playing it and dear fucking god does it rule! i spent quite a number of hours playing that game...

yesterday i went w/ Jacques to do a brief bout of pawnshoppin'...we went to one, left almost immediately 'cuz it sucked then to a second...and there i found some stuff that could not be passed up...they had what was either a Gibson SG or a really good copy for $100...it didn't have a company name or anything on it...i think there's a small problem w/ the grounding but i'm sure that could easily be fixed, or at least i can use it to make lots of noise...but it being so cheap and ruling i couldn't pass it up...they also had a Danelectro bass for $150...it's one of those effects ones...it has like one effect that gives it this kind've wateryish tone or something...it's hard to describe...and it has two outputs, one bypass and one for the effect...and it plays/sounds fucking incredible...so i got both of those...

and then i went to work...when i was checking out for my first shift i thought there was something wrong...that being the fact that i was walking away w/ a mere $7...i had made one near-$10 tip and one $6 tip (as well as a number of other small tips...) so i knew that couldn't be right...i had bought food, but that was only $3...so we went through my deliveries and i found that the ones that had coupons didn't have the post-coupon prices showing up on the checkout, as they were on my driver's slips...so after much going over it and calling Camy, i was given the difference for that...but that was only $6-something...she said they were gonna look over the records and see if there was some other problem, if so i'll be reimbursed or whatever...i've been wondering if i dropped some money or something...that would really suck ass...but i dunno what's going on w/ that...i think that's all i have to say...
