yesterday i made a mixed tape, but i'm gonna write about that in another post...it's sadly a very involved topic, or something...but later i went and got some memory...the only thing i took in consideration for getting the memory was number of pins...so i got it, came home and put it in my computer...upon turning it on, what happens? nothing...well, it turns on and stuff, but nothing at all happens on the screen, it doesn't even start to boot up...so i took it out and put my old memory back in and everything's fine and all...i talked to Justin on AIM and he was like "come ova an weel see wus up" so i did that...upon doing some investigation that i should've had the marginal foresight to have done myself before actually getting the memory, it was found that the kind i got (EDO) won't work on my computer for some reason or other...so now i've gotta get like fast page memory, i believe...woo...hoo...but Justin, being the wonderful dude he is, loaned me some memory that he's not using, so i currently have 48 mb running in here...(thanxxx, dawg!) ooh...it's quite wonderful, i must say...it's like, i'm almost forgetting what my hd clanking away sounds like...like ummm...my computer does stuff, quite wonderful...i can go from window to window w/out any lag!!! wow! amazing, no? but anyways...we sat around on Justin's computer watching various things, most notably being G-Rock...it's some special channel/show thing...it happens on TBN (one of them thar christian networks)...we got a nice stream of episodes on its website and watched like 3 or so of 'em...at least 2 full ones...it's pretty much like XTREME JESUS and such...they usually have some christian punk/metal/ska/whatever's remotely hip band hosting (Justin saw it once w/ MXPX...) one we saw had some band called Jesse and the Rockers or something...it was quite amusing...extremely amusing, actually...and they showed bunches of christian punk/metal/ska/whatever's remotely hip videos, and half of the ones they show didn't actually have videos for the songs so they'd just loop this cheesy skateboarding and snowboarding video clips...i guess i've explained the show well enough w/out having to get into all the specifics of it or something...yeah...so then i went home after being awake far too long...now here i am, my aunt and her granddaughter are here...my grandmother's coming back in from Minneapolis today...i think there's gonna be a bunch of family and we're going out to eat or something later...yeah...that's about all for the moment...

as i said earlier, yesterday i made a mixed tape for this girl i talk to on aim sometimes...she asked me to make a tape of several (10) bands in my profile list thingie or whatever...for this tape i actually went through major planning procedures...i knew i'd have an average of 12 min per band/artist/whatever w/ the 2 hr tape and i knew i wanted more than that for some and whatnot...so i went through and got the times (converting seconds to decimals even, for simplicity...) for all the possible songs and a few shorter backup songs in case what i wanted would be too long...i had several possiblities of what i would choose for each group added up and compared them all and finally came up w/ a solution that worked...i had to cut a bunch of stuff, of couse, but i think overall i got a good mix and stuff...all of the bands were ones she asked for except New Order (which i counted as Joy Division) and Teenage Jesus & the Jerks (which i counted as Lyida Lunch)...here's the results of my scientifically engineered effort...a model of rock'n'roll efficiency, or something...:
