I got a Test Dept. shirt in the mail. Other than that Mary Beth and I went to see Bonnie "Prince" Billy at Off the Walls Arts (crazy awesome setting! pretty sure I heard it sold out pretty quickly and there seemed to be a lot of people there). It was also weird 'cuz it was also billed as this local band's album release show: Out on the Eaves is the band, wasn't familiar with them at all but almost all of the backing members are people I know from other bands. They were pretty good. For most of the set I was like, I'm liking every other song of theirs (and the others I didn't dislike, were just okay). This kept up until the last two songs as I liked both of those. We had shown up to the show pretty early so we waited around a bit but we got nice spots in the front. Bonnie "Prince" Billy consisted of Will Oldham on acoustic guitar and vocals (of course) and one guy on saxophone (primarily) and flute and another guy on guitar (primarily) and clarinet. They were really really good. I'm not terribly well versed in his catalog, but he played the kinds of songs of his that I like! It was also a great atmosphere. You have Off the Walls' giant glowing moon above the stage and all, seemed like the band was having fun. They did a Bill Withers cover. Anyway, pretty great show!
