Mary Beth and I went to see The City of Tomorrow at Crosstown. It was a good show! I wish I knew what all the pieces they played were. For the last piece, they all stood in different parts of the room (so most of them were behind where I couldn't see) and I'm just leaning back listening to the spaciality. I'm pretty sure by hearing where everyone is, but at some point I'm thinking the clarinetist and the bassoonist switched places but then after I was done I saw the clarinetist with a bass clarinet (he never had one up front where I could see for the rest of the show) so that explained it! (Bass clarinets are about one of the best sounding instruments, no?) Oh yeah, and after the intermission the oboist played a solo piece (solo oboe and electronic sounds, so that was up my alley of course, too!). Anyway it was all really good. I also picked up the cd of theirs I don't have: The City of Tomorrow: Blow. There ya go.
