Mary Beth and I went to the Memphis Symphony Orchestra. It was a good program. First it was "The Chairman Dances" by John Adams (more contemporary and it reminded me in bits of Steve Reich). Then it was the Butterfly Lovers Violin Concerto by Chen Gang and He Zhanhao (the more subdued and solo parts not featuring the whole orchestra at once were the best here). The soloist Timmy Chooi was very good, as you might expect! And last it was Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov's "Scheherazade" and that was very good also. We saw Otávio back in town briefly for this. In the evening I finished my watch of The Terminator and my initial round of notes. That's about it for now.
