Last night we went and saw Opera Memphis's production of Carmen. Before it there was a talk so we went to talk as we always like the talks! It was fun to learn that Bizet thought the toreador's song was shit (as that's also my least favorite and the one that gets stuck in my head). There were two he was compelled to add and didn't like, was the other the habanera? 'Cuz then on the opposite end, that one's my favorite. Anyway, then the opera. We've gotten a lot of Carmen in different forms in the relatively recent times. Also, it felt like it was probably the most crowded Opera Memphis performance we've been to yet.
