ateolf: (the goat...BITCH!)

We did our TFM grocery run during my lunch break yesterday, a little off-cycle as we realized the normal day (Wednesday, what would be today) is the day before Thanksgiving and so that was sure to be even more of a zoo. I got in the mail Tristan Perich: Composition for Three Small Speakers. This is like his other self-contained gadget-in-a-cd-tray pieces where it's a circuit that plays the music and not an actual cd or anything else. The others were easy to rip to cd as I just outputted from their headphone jacks, but this, as it says, is literally for three small speakers built onto the board so there's no output jack. I think I'm going to have to literally record it from a microphone (probably multiple times either for stereo channels or each speaker, we'll see). So this will be a little bit of work to listen to (im)properly, but I've got some time to get around to it. In the evening after work I met up with Jenny up at Crosstown to discuss Memphis Concrète in 2024 for the first time. It went pretty smoothly. We were both just like, this past one went great so we know what to expect and we can just go forward from there. The big thing was getting the dates. They still need to be confirmed up the ladder, but then things should be moving soon. It's a little bittersweet as Jenny has a new main job elsewhere and is still working at Crosstown but now in a part-time basis. By the time of the festival, it's not sure how much involvement she'll have. If there's someone else to take her place by then then she may be transitioned off completely. But we'll see. It's been nice having someone that I like to work with on this, but the next person could be awesome too (and I know she was overworked over there so it is good for her). For some reason I woke up a bit early this morning. Well, to it, I guess.
