I called the doctor yesterday with the update of my progress. They called back a little later saying they were putting in another prescription for the prednisone, this time a full dose for ten days. I think that's good timing because I was worried about having to schedule an appointment with a specialist with the holiday next week throwing a wrench in things so that who knows how long I'd have to wait on top of how long I'd normally have to wait. I went and picked up the prescription last night. I'll start on it tonight which will make it pretty much last through the holiday weekend. I finished my album weighted randomization program. I really didn't have much left after all the data fixes and the part that builds the weights. I was actually kinda surprised that my code to actually read the weights pretty much worked the first time I ran it. I did spend a little time tweaking the formula to find a balance that weights it enough to get more recent stuff but not too much so that there's never any chance of something older. I think it's working pretty well. And then it was easy to apply what I did there to the random song playlist (as opposed to picking a single album) and have those use the same weights. Exciting stuff for me! Last night I finished reading Night and Day by Virginia Woolf. It was alright. It's definitely true what they say about it being way more conventional than what followed (I think it's even supposed to be more conventional than the one before it). There are some moments of very good writing, but it does feel way longer than it needs to be. There are some Woolf-ish things that pop up throughout but they don't really come across as well as in her later works when she goes all-out. After sleeping last night, the neck didn't seem to get any worse at least.
