It May Be Halloween

Yesterday afternoon I went and hung up flyers in a couple places (well, just the two record stores in town). Shangri-La's board is small so I only got the small version of the main flyer up. Then at Goner they made some room for me. I'd made a big Halloween III flyer and I talked to Billups for a bit about that (I mean, Natalie's a Goner artist so it's very fitting). I didn't quite have room for the large main flyer but I got the smaller one and also the flyer for the jazz show (which is in a damn week). Also just happened to run into Josh there with Finn and Sammy (the kids were buying Cure and Misfits records, he's raised them right). While I was leaving the store I fucking shut the door on my finger. At first I'm like, wow I'm dumb and awkward, and then I get to the car and I'm like, wow that really does fucking hurt. At night I was working on the score. I made practical notes with all the scenes and the settings I'm using on each instrument and some cues when certain sounds come up or change in the middle of a scene. I don't need it for all the changes, but it seems to be helpful and working to keep me on track. I ran through it a few times and am doing much better again. I think with this I should have my part down very well and just need to learn some stuff for the others'. I'll probably have room to be more exploratory for those since I won't be carrying it. I got some major sleep in last night. I mean, I didn't think I had much or any to catch up on but I slept a long time. But that's a good use of a holiday weekend.
