Listen Up

In anticipation of tonight's show (!) Xiu Xiu had a free "listening session" up at Memphis Listening Lab in the early evening yesterday. So I went up to that. It was pretty cool. Each member just picked a few songs and they were played on the fancy stereo system there and then they'd talk about them. Mostly picking songs based on personal connection kinds of reasons. And also people in the audience got to ask questions and stuff. Towards the end there became much more talking than listening, which was cool. Ran into some friends and talked some. And then afterwards I went with a few out to Los Comales. I had eaten dinner before we went, but uh, it was later, and I had a little second dinner to hang out. It was with Jill, her girlfriend Suroor, and some other friend of theirs who I hadn't met before named Jay. It was cool.
