I feel I've reached a huge personal milestone in my cd ripping project. I made it through Sonic Youth yesterday. This is significant for being an artist very well into the alphabetical order, as well as one I have a fairly large number of discs by, as well as one that I hold and have held a very close personal connection with. At night I did some "repair" work on my Wasp. I finally tried the batteries in it and it was not coming on at first. I took it apart a little bit to remove the spring of the negative battery terminal and soak it in some vinegar to clean it. That worked pretty well, cleaned the corrosion off. I tried it back again and it still wasn't working, but then after jostling the batteries around it did come on (but it seems a little finicky). The keyboard wasn't initially responding (nor was it responding when I tried it plugged in last week or so) but finally after messing with the difficult to turn and wonky sensitivity control it did start working. So I'll take it as a good sign, I guess! Prognosis is that I can probably get it to work but it may be a bit wonky and unreliable!
