Last night I joined in on a little zoom meeting Crosstown Arts was having about live streaming concerts. I didn't get a whole lot out of it but there were a few links that maybe could offer some help. Maybe. I don't think my particular problems have been ones other people experience 'cuz most people just stream their own single performance and don't try to get multiple musicians together. And definitely for the people in that conversation. Had to leave a little early 'cuz Mary Beth and I had a back-deck-distanced dinner with our neighbors again. The weather was absolutely wonderful. It was surprisingly cool. We waited til late and the sun had started to go down but still, unexpected for this time of year. Anyway, back to stuff.

I don’t know if this is particularly helpful or not, but for the last one I was involved with all of us were using OBS. It worked really smoothly.

OBS is what I use for streaming, but that's a single-channel and doesn't work to "conference" at all. How did everyone manage the multiple artists?

For the last show we did, we tried it Sarmistha where I stopped streaming from my OBS and they took over with the same stream id for theirs. It had worked in our practice/test run but during the actual show it never picked up their stream and that's why there was the long gap with nothing happening when Tavishi was supposed to come on. Was there anything special ya'll were able to do to manage multiple artists?

To be honest, I’m not sure how he did it (I can ask if you’d like). I know that all three of us were using OBS. Before transmission he gave us the streaming key for YouTube and then we used text messaging for cues to jump into the feed. The first guy finished then the organizer texted me “ok. Now.” And off I went.

I had OBS up with the key put in when the night started. When it was my turn I just hit “start streaming” and there I was.
