Mary Beth and I played a couple games of Splendor yesterday evening and it was fun. A little after that I had a deployment for work. But then it was back to more free time for the night. Not a whole lot else. Maybe it's placebo effect, but the antibiotics seem to be turning the pain around so far.

Have you ever played Splendor before? Was this the actual board game or the digital version? I own the base game and the expansion (board) but never got to try the expansion. I love Splendor in terms of how simple the concept is. My friend got it for xmas but he feels it's too easy (e.g. min/maxing). But he's super mathy. For me it's that whole "building to something and then some asshole takes what you're going for" thing that really makes it. LOL.

that's exactly why we stopped playing a lot of board games--OP went back into programming/focusing on math more in daily life and now games that are pretty much who can strategize that way fastest/more efficiently are non starters 'cause it's always him (and i find that boring/pointless usually). haha. with you on the more personal elements in social-interactive board gaming.
