Worked on wrapping stuff up for that show I'm flippin' "promoting" (I guess there really shouldn't be the quotes around that word, I was contacted in the capacity for promoting this show). I'm not even playing it! But I did stick on a few local favorites (Artificer and Revenge Body). It's on December 5th and it's Steve Hauschildt (who was in Emeralds, who are apparently pretty well-known and regarded) and Majeure (which is the drummer from Zombi's solo project, didn't even realize it was him until a bit into this whole thing). So getting pretty excited about it. This morning I went out and took to printing and putting out fliers in a few places (not very many, only the three standards of Shangri-La, Pho Binh, and Goner so far). What's weird is I think Eric Friedl (née Oblivian) knows who I am by sight. He said something with kind of a familiar tone about seeing the show I was putting the flyer up for. Then he pointed me towards their experimental section of records. Kinda weird, but I guess the Concrète thing may have a tid bit of traction. I also went around looking for a cassette recorder at thrift stores. I almost thought I had one, but when I tested it with a tape they have, it would always stop after playing for a second. So the search continues. Anyway, otherwise enjoying my day off today!
