before class yesterday i went and got my tire fixed...i tried to find my professor in his office again to no avail...i decided i'd just email him about it, which i did today...i also swung by Bookstar and picked up the new issue of Jane as it comes w/ this cd that has a new Sonic Youth song as well as a bunch of less desirable stuff...though there are a couple other decent things...but the new SY song rules, i must say...then after class i went over to Jacques' and we went to the Iggy Pop show...it was kind've crappy overall, but worth it just to have been to an Iggy Pop show...his current band is REALLY cock...the guitarist is an über-shredmaster...but Iggy has one of the coolest voices ever so it was at least cool listening to him sing...and he did jump around a bunch...and who doesn't love seeing a shirtless 53 yr old man jump around for over an hour!? here's the old stuff that he did: "Search and Destroy," "I Wanna Be Your Dog," "The Passenger," and "I Got a Right"...then durring the encore he did: "Death Trip," "TV Eye," and "No Fun"...most of those songs weren't butchered too badly...especially the Raw Power ones, already being all rockin' and all...you could at least use your imagination and picture the original version...but the version of "The Passenger" was fucking atrotious...i started to sing along at first, 'cuz it is "The Passenger" and all, but i couldn't continue...it was SOOO bad...i had to just hold my head down in my hands thinking "this song USED to be great"...not a song that lends itself well to being cocked out...the version of "Death Trip" was actually almost really good though...but all the encore songs were shortened...oh well, i say...oh yea, durring the end of "The Passenger" he got a bunch of ppl from the audience to get up on stage...that was kind've cool i guess...
i forgot to mention the opening band...i think it was some guys that work at the New Daisy (crappy club the show was at)...it was the worst thing ever...i think they just played mangled covers, although there might've been a few originals...they were all really old classic rockers that sounded like a really bad high school garage band...i half recognized some Zeppelin and Kiss songs...the "best" was their "cover" of "I Wanna Be Your Dog"...the chord progression didn't even come close to resembling the actual song...and none of the lyrics resembled the song either, aside from the line "now i wanna be your dog" which didn't even happen in the right places...one thing to the guy's credit, was for the last part of the set, he played on some guitar-like instrument that he had built himself...there was some wooden box, i think the pickups were made partly from bottle caps and the neck was two canes or something like that...although it would've been much cooler had it been put to good use...even tolerable use...the main guy (singer/guitarist) looked like Robert Plant too...

afterwards i hung out w/ Brad for a few hours...he's goin' thru a ruff time and needs some luvin'...then i got home all late and did my probability homework...i went to school all tired today and then went to work...i didn't work long...now here i am...i've kind've been trying to work on this real analysis homework, but i'm realizing that i have NO IDEA of how the fuck i'm supposed to do it...i'm really fucking lost now and i don't know what i'm going to do...i might attempt turning it in late and seeing my professer on friday and getting some help...

and on the very good news front: The Family Ghost is practicing again tomorrow morning/afternoon...woohoo!

Dude. When I saw Iggy Pop, it was the raddest fuckin' king shizow of shows that I've EVER seen!!! It was rock 'n roll mayhem and Iggy jumped off stage right onto my head and I got to run my hands along his sweaty, shirtless ribs. Whooooooohhhhhhhhhh!!!
I walked past him in New York one day -- he was with his son in Thompkin's Square Park, and he was limping. My friends and I were all laughing, thinking, with a dick that big, how could he not keep from limping???

eh...it was cool seeing Iggy jump around and hearing him sing and all...but the music was pretty bad and that's my main concern...at least i've had the luck to see two old greats durring comeback shows and, to my surprise, both being amazing and two of the best shows i've ever seen...namely, Television and Suicide...
