Our Band Could Be Your Life (Scenes from the American Indie Unerground 1981-1991) [Michael Azerrad]
said book has stories on: Black Flag, Minutemen, Mission of Burma, Minor Threat, Hüsker Dü, Replacements, Sonic Youth, Butthole Surfers, Big Black, Dinosaur Jr, Fugazi, Mudhoney, and Beat Happening...mostly quite good bands...and the few sucky ones should at least be interesting to read about...
but anyhoo...last night i kicked it w/ Keith and Brad, both of whom i hadn't seen in too far too long...there was some wackiness when we left to go to someone else's apartment and Brad's car was blocked in so he went through this giant ordeal in trying to get his car around said car of person who had left their car in his driveway...going around it, out of the narrow driveway in the yard, over an oddly-placed concrete curb/slab thing, right near where his house is...all leaving very little room...several ppl were guiding, eventually Brad got out of the car and "Bob Dole" finished...of course explaining all of this has no bearing on how amusing/stupid it actually was, so i'll ignore any further details i might conceive...
judging by talk that has been circulating i think that the band might finally start practicing again fairly soon...this would be a very very very good thing...
i went to work today, a standard half hour late...i find out that once again the sunday start time has been moved back...it's now 12...mmm...another hour or so to sleep...i was also mildly reprimanded for my no-call no-show last week...but nothing über-serious...la de da de da...
oh! i also must say that the mango milkshake from Inida Palace is the best thing ever...oh my god it's so good...that should cover it...
