Christmasish
Dec. 26th, 2016 06:06 pmMary Beth went over to the parents' house yesterday. Told my sister when we'd be there but they weren't there when we arrived..."luckily" the front door was just sitting open. It was the first time I've been over since Lacey died, it does feel like something's missing with no more L's. Anyway, we did the exchange. I got a ukulele from my parents (one that actually has an output jack so I can easily run it through distortion or my modular or whatever so that's pretty cool). The kids didn't seem too into my presents at first but then they started getting into it. I got Jason to put his computer together and then he was doing stuff on it. Got a little thrown back 'cuz the keyboard stopped working right for a while, but then it started working again. We did a software update and it took forever and I think it just got stuck. Finally just restarted it. Okay, maybe he'll learn some coding and shit. Jason finally started to get into Anthony's present (a little box that records sound and you can play it back and change the speed). Anthony seems to have trouble pushing the buttons right (they're kinda small and it's not MADE for kids particularly). My dad had given Jason a shotgun for a present, that's pretty weird. We left there and visited my mom in the hospital again. Sucks she was stuck there on christmas, she was let home today though. We ordered some chinese food going home, there was a long wait (unsurprisingly, I should have guessed) so we went home and then went back out to pick it up when it was ready. Then we watched My Winnipeg. It was good, I may have like the other Guy Maddin movies I've seen better, but it was good.
Today I got up and did grocery shopping. We went and met Josh and Molly and Maria and Lila for lunch at Cook Out (just opened up here in town). It was insanely crowded. We just parked at the place next door. The food was alright, cheap for sure. A former student recognized me and said hi. Afterwards we went and hung out at their place and played ping pong. Lila was really into playing ping pong and she got more and more where she could actually hit the ball sometimes and sometimes even make it over the net (by the end she said she could play as good as her daddy). Josh fixed my Mikrophonie module (the kit I tried to put together and messed up). Not sure if I didn't burn the diodes out, I'll try to plug it in when I get a chance and see if it works or not. He gave me a couple cups that say "dirty deeds done with sheep" and "might as well face it you're a dick with a glove." Now we're back home and, alright!
