Kind of Metal

We started recording for our live-in-the-"studio" cdr-thingie we plan to have for the out of town show. Just a few mics around and a couple things going straight in (as well as monitored through the keyboard amp, those would be synths and vocals). One of the mics' thingie that screws it to the stand was missing and another's had come apart. The first one was rigged by kinda putting it on this other screw-connecter where it was sort of just sitting there (and it worked), the other we ended up hanging from underneath a keybaord stand (and it worked). Took longer than hoped to set up. Then we went through the new intro and "A Series of False Starts" together. We ran through it a few times, messing up here and there. We got one pretty okay take recorded. Then we did one more before Ryan had to go and that was where we fucking nailed it. Jacques and I did what little mixing down there was to do and it is fucking awesome. I mean, really fucking awesome. I am pleased as punch about it. Now we just have six more to go. Went to the gym today. Now I guess I need to work and stuff.

Thanks though I've got a set of drum mics. Mostly using just the room mic-type setup. Simple and live. We are using the bass drum mic for those though.
