A good bit of yesterday was spent driving around going to pawn shops and other similar places with the wife (who mostly stayed outside and read, we did go do some of "her" shopping as well). Also ended up at Spin Street and I got some used stuff: Fela Kuti: Open & Close/Afrodisiac, Miles Davis: Quintet, 1965-'68, Homicide: Life on the Street: The Complete Seasons 1 & 2, and Sun Ra: The Futuristic Sounds of Sun Ra. Afterwards we ate at Huey's and they have this new dessert: sweet potatoes a la mode. It's awesome and everyone should go get it so they don't get rid of it like they did to that wonderful new portabello sandwich they had a few years ago. Last night I finished reading The Face of Another by Kobo Abe. It was okay. Not nearly as good as the other two of his novels I've read. Now that it's summer maybe I can get some real reading done!
